HOUSTON – Police have detained a suspect after a high-speed chase on Southwest Freeway Friday morning.
According to HPD, the southwest patrol units located a suspicious vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated and the suspect exited the vehicle. He said something to officers and the got back into the vehicle and fled.
After that, a pursuit ensued, reaching speeds of approximately 90 miles per hour. The suspect then exited 59 at Kirby and crashed.
Police said the suspect refused to exit the vehicle, and allegedly tied himself up, claiming that he was kidnapped.
Houston Fire Department helped the HPD with making forcible entry into the car and took the suspect into custody.
