Man slams vehicle into store, leads police on chase

HOUSTON – A man was taken into custody after he rammed his vehicle into a store and then led police on a chase Monday night.

According to investigators, the suspect crashed his vehicle into the front of the Petsmart Store on Taylor Street. As the employees started recording him, police said the man got upset and tried running them over.

The suspect took off from there and hit a police vehicle while giving inappropriate gestures to the police officers. The chase ended with K9 catching the man in the 6600 block of Westcott near the Katy Freeway.

The man was arrested and was taken for mental health evaluation.
