Alleged intruder shot, killed in southeast Houston

HOUSTON – HPD Homicide is investigating a fatal shooting of a man at the door of a residence in southeast Houston.
The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. in the 12500 block of Cooperstown Drive.

Police said an older woman, who was home alone, received a knock on her door when she found a man claiming to be a home health care worker. The female refused to let the man in, and called her son who was couple blocks away.

The son arrived at the scene and shot the suspect as he was forcing his way in.

Investigation is underway.
