Homeowner fatally shoots intruder in galleria area

HOUSTON – An alleged intruder was killed after he was shot by a homeowner in Galleria area early Thursday.

The incident was reported in the 2200 block of Naomi Street after 01:00 AM.

Police were told that the homeowner was asleep on the second floor when he heard someone breaking the glass of back door.

The intruder entered his home and made his way upstairs into the homeowner’s bedroom. As the homeowner spotted the suspect, he opened fire and struck the intruder in the neck.

The intruder then ran out the same way he came in and then knocked on neighbors’ doors saying he was shot, before collapsing a few houses down from the scene.

At this time, it’s unknown if the intruder was armed. The homeowner is cooperating with authorities.
