Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Friday (February 25) posted a video of himself alongside other Ukrainian officials in the governmental district of Kyiv, confirming that he is still in the capital.
Zelenskiy named the advisors with him, including the Prime Minister, Denys Shmygal, who displayed the time and date on his phone on-screen.
Zelenskiy ended the video with the words “glory to Ukraine,” to which his advisers responded “glory to our heroes.”
The city’s mayor said “saboteurs” had entered the city and were fighting in the outskirts and most streets are deserted.
Authorities urged Kyiv residents to prepare Molotov cocktails to defend the capital, as Russian missiles continue to pound the city, forcing residents to shelter in metro stations.
Earlier, Zelenskiy said he knew he was “the number one target” but would stay in Kyiv.
