HOUSTON – Two suspects have surrendered after a SWAT standoff in the 16000 block of Cotillion Drive Thursday night.
The Houston Police Department said the officers responded to an assault in progress possibly with a weapon. It was reported that there were two males who forced themselves into the apartment. One is an adult the other is a juvenile.
There was a physical altercation and at one point one male told the other one to just shoot him.
The complainant fearing for his life fled the apartment.
Inside the apartment was an adult female and her 5-year-old daughter.
SWAT and Hostage negotiators were dispatched to the scene. After several hours negotiators were able to convince the adult female to step outside with her daughter. The minor girl was not hurt while the adult female was treated for abrasions to her knee.
Eventually the two male suspects exited the apartment and gave themselves up. Officers were able to find two spent bullet casings inside the apartment.
One of the suspects was in a previous relationship with the female. It’s not believed any of the males are the child’s father.
Further investigation is underway.
