Man shot, killed in SW Houston

HOUSTON – HPD homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting incident in southwest Houston Monday morning. 

The incident was reported around 2:00 am in the 11800 block of Chimney Rock. 

Officers arrived at the scene and located a pickup truck with multiple bullet holes. The victim was found with at least two gunshot wounds to the head. He was transported to a nearby trauma center where he succumbed to his wounds.

Officers learned that the victim had an argument over the phone with his cousin’s new boyfriend. At one point, the suspect threatened the victim and challenged him to a fight.

When the suspect arrived at the apartment complex, he produced a gun and began firing before fleeing from the scene. 

Investigation is underway.
