Multiple apartment units catch fire in east Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY – Firefighters battled a heavy fire at an apartment complex in East Harris County early Friday.

The fire was reported at 90 Uvalde Road.

A resident told that she was up cooking and heard a loud pop outside. She looked outside and saw her neighbor’s apartment had fire coming out of the window on the first floor.

The woman woke her kids up and got everyone out of the unit safely. She then went upstairs and started knocking on doors to get people out of the complex.

The fire spread to multiple apartment units on the second floor and then reached the attic.
