Suspect in liquor store theft fatally struck by car on Gessner

HOUSTON – A man accused of stealing beer from a liquor store was killed after a car struck him on Westpark Monday night. 

Officers responded to the scene at 3770 South Gessner Road and were directed to a male in the grass on Westpark.

The male was struck by a car which fled the scene.

He was treated and transported to a nearby trauma center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Two unopened beer cans were also found at the location where the man was struck. 

During the investigation, all westbound traffic remained closed on Westpark.
