Motorcyclist killed in crash during police chase on Galveston Road

HOUSTON – A man died in a motorcycle crash during police pursuit in the 10800 block of Galveston Road Wednesday night. 

As per initial information, HCCO Precinct 8 deputies spotted a motorcycle attempting to race another.

As deputies initiated a traffic stop, the motorcycle took off and led deputies on a pursuit.

Deputies called off the pursuit due to safety concerns as the speeds reached in excess of 100 mph.

A short time later, the suspect was located in the vicinity of where the pursuit began. 

The motorcycle took off on deputies again, and crashed a short time later.

The rider was pronounced deceased at the scene by ems.

HPD’s vehicular crimes division is assisting deputies with the investigation.
