Man shot dead inside home in northwest Houston

HOUSTON – A suspect is on the run after killing a man inside a home in northwest Houston. 

The shooting was reported in the 2100 block of Hampton Street around 12:00 a.m. on Thursday. 

A woman told police the suspect, a man in his 20s, is her son and that he maybe having a mental crisis. 

She said earlier the night he had a knife and was making everyone in the house nervous. Later, he was spotted going into a room. 

The mom said they assumed he was going to grab a cigarrete but instead he shot a man in his 40s who was renting a room.

The suspect left the room then went back inside and shot the male again.

The suspect then fled the scene on a bicycle.

No other occupants were reported to be injured.
