House fire spreads to neighboring structures in southeast Houston

HOUSTON – Several people were evacuated after a house fire extended to neighboring structures in southeast Houston early Tuesday.

Houston firefighters responded to the scene around 12:15 a.m. in the 1900 block of Dismuke.

Arriving companies located a fire in the rear of a residence, which was extending to neighboring structures.

Firefighters made an aggressive attack on the fire, limiting its spread to exterior damage to an adjacent house and an adjacent apartment building.

It took firefighters about 20 minutes to get the bulk of the fire out.

Cause and origin of the fire are under investigation.
