Eastex Freeway: Car flies off freeway, bursts into flames

HOUSTON – Two men were rescued after a fiery crash at the I-610 intersection with the Eastex Freeway Tuesday night.

A vehicle burst into flames after falling off the transition road from eastbound 610 to northbound Eastex Freeway.

Metro Police Department officers at their office heard the crash and came out to find the burning vehicle. They ran over and pulled both occupants from the burning wreck.

Both men sustained major injuries in the crash. One is in critical condition with burns as well as trauma from the crash, while the second is in stable condition.
