Driver of stolen big rig charged with murder, reckless aggravated assault

HOUSTON – The suspected driver of a stolen big rig has been charged in Tuesday’s crash that killed a woman and critically injured a man on Mckinley Street. 

39-year-old Erik Black has been charged with murder and reckless aggravated assault.

A 50-year-old woman was killed early Tuesday after a stolen 18-wheeler crashed into her mobile home. The suspect had stolen the vehicle from a local trucking company in the 14700 block of Sommermeyer Street.

During a brief police chase, the 18-wheeler crashed into a mobile home after the suspect bailed out in the middle of the road. 

A woman was killed on the spot, one person was critically injured and two others remained safe in the incident.
