3-year-old boy injured in accidental shooting in south Houston  

HOUSTON – Investigation is underway after a three-year-old boy got injured in an apparent accidental shooting in the south side of Houston Tuesday night. 

The incident was reported around 9:00 p.m. last night in the 3800 block of Amos Street. 

According to investigators, it appears the mother was getting something out of a purse when her pistol went off, striking the child in the torso. 

He was transported to a trauma center and is expected to survive.
