Girl injured by stray bullet while lying in bed in southeast Houston

HOUSTON – A 15-year-old girl was allegedly struck by a bullet while she was lying in bed inside an apartment in southeast Houston early Thursday.

The incident occurred on Winkler Drive just after 3:20 a.m. 

It was reported a random bullet came through the wall of the apartment, striking the girl in the foot.

She was transported to the hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are trying to determine where that bullet came from.
