Big rig flips on 610 Loop after striking two vehicles

HOUSTON – A major crash disrupted traffic on 610 Loop after a big rig flipped on 610 Loop early Wednesday. 

The crash happened on northbound lanes of the freeway at Ship Channel Bridge around 12:50 a.m.

According to witnesses, the 18-wheeler struck two vehicles before hitting the guard rail and flipping over. They said the two cars were possibly racing at the time of the incident. Both vehicles suddenly slowed down in the main lanes which resulted in the crash. 

The driver of the big rig has been moved to the hospital in stable condition, whereas, no other injury was reported in the crash. 

Later, heavy duty wreckers were called to clear the road.
