Two children injured during road rage shooting on 610 Loop

HOUSTON – Two children sustained injuries during a road rage shooting on 610 Loop Sunday evening.

Authorities said the victim and suspect were on the main lanes of the 610 Loop when the latter tried to merge in the victim’s lane.

Both ended up having a verbal altercation and that is when the suspect pulled out a gun and started firing multiple shots at the victim’s vehicle.

According to a police officer, one of the car windows was blown out, causing glass to hit a 9-year-old girl in the neck.

A 6-month-old boy was also scratched on the head by flying debris.

The victim exited the freeway and came to stop on the feeder road and called for help. Both children were transported by ambulance in stable condition.

No one inside of the SUV was hit by gunfire.

Police said the suspect’s vehicle is described as a two-door red Acura with paper plates.

Further investigation is underway.
