SUV crashes into house during police chase

HOUSTON – A suspect has been taken into custody after he crashed his SUV into a home during police pursuit in southeast Houston. 

According to Lt. C. Bruce, HPD officers attempted to stop an SUV for running a red light

The driver initially stopped, and as officers approached the vehicle, they noticed the driver fumbling around with a vile of narcotics.

Officers immediately ordered the driver to exit the vehicle, but he sped away.

During a short pursuit, the suspect lost control and crashed into a house along Yellowstone Boulevard.

The suspect was taken into custody without further incident

The suspect will be booked for traffic, felony evasion, and possibly narcotics possession following lab testing.
