Stolen car crashes into pool behind home in northwest Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY – A suspect is on the run after a stolen car crashed into a family’s fence and landed in their pool in northwest Harris County Friday.

The crash was reported after 3:15 a.m. on Walters Road and Briarchase Drive.

Investigators told that a suspect stole a woman’s vehicle at gunpoint at around 1 a.m.

He led the HCSO deputies on a brief chase before crashing into a fence and then into the pool.

The suspect ran away from the location, leaving behind a passenger in the submerged vehicle, deputies said. 

That passenger has since been detained.

The suspect is believed to be armed. Authorities have initiated search operation in the area to locate him.
