Man killed in car crash in northeast Houston

HOUSTON – All inbound lanes of the Eastex Freeway at Greens Road were closed for traffic early Thursday morning after a man was killed in a major crash.

The crash happened on the Eastex Freeway near Greens Road around 1:58 a.m.

According to investigators, a man died on the scene after a pickup truck rammed into his SUV. Police said children were also travelling in the SUV, but they are unhurt.

The occupants of the truck, a male and a female, are believed to be intoxicated, investigators said.

Further investigation is underway.
