Man allegedly commits suicide after killing wife at rehabilitation center

HOUSTON – Houston Police Department has launched investigation into apparent murder-suicide at a rehabilitation center Sunday.

The incident occurred at Neurorestorative in the 9000 block of Fannin Street.

As per initial details, a female patient in her 70s, who had recently suffered a stroke, asked her husband to come to visit her.

Officials said both the wife and husband were in the room when the staff heard popping sounds but didn’t think anything of it.

A short time later, the staff went to check on them in the room and noticed the female slumped over in her wheelchair. They began CPR and noticed the gunshot wound.

Staff members also spotted the man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound.

Both were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Authorities have initiated probe to determine cause of the incident.
