89-year-old man struck, killed by vehicle on Braniff Street

HOUSTON – An 89-year-old male pedestrian succumbed to his injuries after he was struck by a vehicle in the 7700 block of Braniff Street.

According to investigators, the male was walking in the middle of a poorly lit road when he was struck at low speed. An oncoming vehicle attempted to warn the driver by flashing their lights, but it may have obscured the driver’s vision prior to impact.

The striking driver remained at the scene and was seen cooperating with the Houston Police Department.

Authorities have confirmed that the driver was not impaired at the time of the incident.
