18-wheeler flies off 610 West Loop overpass

HOUSTON – A driver of the 18-wheeler miraculously survived after his truck fell off from an overpass on 610 West Loop Friday morning.

The crash occurred around 12:30 a.m. on the US-59 westbound exit that links the road to the southbound lanes of the 610 West Loop.

The driver told police he was taking the 59 ramp to 610 when the load all of a sudden shifted, causing the rig to go over the wall.

The big rig came to rest in a construction area off the freeway.

Police said the male driver survived the fall with minor injuries.
