1 killed, 1 injured in shooting at Walmart parking lot

HOUSTON – One person has been killed and one got injured during a shooting in the parking lot of Walmart on North Freeway.

According to Houston police, the shooting was reported in the 4400 block of North Freeway around 1:50am on Tuesday. 

Police said both victims were shot in the parking lot near two vehicles. One male teenager was transported with a gunshot wound and a second male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

After the incident, the HPD officers initiated a pursuit on one of the suspects, which terminated at Lockwood and Kelley, with the suspect clipping an HPD patrol car and flipping over.

Police said the suspect and officers were not injured in the crash, and a firearm was recovered from the vehicle after the pursuit.

Authorities are reviewing surveillance cameras as the investigation continues.
