Woman ejected in fatal crash in Crosby

HOUSTON – A driver has fled the scene after striking another car, resulting in death of a woman on FM 2100 in Crosby overnight. 

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened at about 1 a.m. Thursday.

A woman driving a Kia died at the scene after she was ejected from her car, deputies told, adding that the victim was not wearing at seatbelt at the time of the crash.  

Deputies said the Kia driver exited from a local bar and made a turn in front of a Ford Explorer without yielding. The driver of the Ford explorer initially stayed on scene, however, he got in a pickup truck and fled the scene.

FM 2100 remained closed for at least four hours after the crash.

The driver of the Explorer is facing failure to stop and render assistance charges at this time.
