Fort Bend County launches new web address and mobile app

(FORT BEND, TX) – Fort Bend County government has a new home on the Web. Today, as part of an initiative to make government more accessible to the public, Fort Bend County Judge KP George announced the launch of a new County web address, FBCTX.gov and mobile application, “myFBC”.

Joined by the Fort Bend County Director of Information Technology & Chief Information Officer Robyn Doughtie, Application & Systems Programming Manager Beverly Chance, Assistant IT Director and IT Security Manager Jahan Tolliver, and Digital Content Management Supervisor Ron Viseh, Fort Bend County Judge KP George said his administration began exploring web options with the County’s IT Department 18 months ago.

“This has been a priority for my administration since I took office in January of 2019, it is an honor to finally see the vision become the reality because of the hard work and dedication of our Information Technology Staff,” stated Judge George.

The web address fortbendcountytx.gov is still the active home of the County website. However, the shortened FBCTX.gov, is a streamlined improvement that not only benefits County residents, but County employees as well, many who have expressed a desire to have an easier, more efficient way of communicating with constituents, county departments, and colleagues.

The introduction of the mobile app allows residents to access County services and resources, voting information, jury and court information, pay property taxes, receive active emergency notifications, and access chat features that allows residents to chat directly with various departments. Additionally, the app can be translated into over 100 languages.

This is a resource that was created by the talented personnel of the County’s information technology department, with a network that sits behind a secure firewall and no public information will be shared via the app.

The “myFBC” app can be downloaded from the Apple Store and the Google Play Store.
