Car driver detained after striking child in southwest Houston

HOUSTON – Houston police are investigating after a two-year-old child got hit by a car in southwest Houston.

According to police, the incident was reported in the 11315 block of Fondren Road around 8:30 p.m Tuesday.

The child was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. His condition is said to be stable.

Police said have confirmed that the suspected driver has been detained. 

Further investigation is underway.
