Search for 6-year-old Samuel Olson continues

HOUSTON – Investigators are searching for new clues in the case of 6-year-old Samuel Olson who was taken by someone from his southwest Houston home last week.

According to investigators, Samuel was reportedly missing on May 27 after an unknown male took him from a home in the 8800 block of McAvoy Drive.

“We are trying to move with as much urgency as we can,” Houston Police Department Assistant Chief Larry Satterwhite said in a news conference. “We’re still not where we need to be in terms of locating him.”

Satterwhite said investigators did not have many leads after speaking with family members. He said the boy’s biological parents, who share custody of the child, do not know where he is.

Satterwhite said the last confirmed sighting of Olson was April 30 at his school. It’s possible the child has been missing since then.

“We are looking everywhere —anywhere where a 6-year-old child could be, on his own or by any potential other party that might have him,” Satterwhite said.

Any information about the missing child should be reported to Houston Police Patrol at 713-884-3131 and/or Houston Police Missing Persons Division at 832-394-1840. Individuals can also call Texas EquuSearch at 281-309-9500.
