HARRIS COUNTY – A meeting to sell a car turned into a robbery and then a shooting in the Humble neighborhood, with one victim dead.
Harris County County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to 15100 block of Winter Dawn Way on the report of a shooting.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the victim identified as Kelvin Shepherd and his friend went to the location to look at a car up for sale. During the meeting, shots were fired as the two males allegedly attempted to rob Kelvin and his friend.
Kelvin was shot and killed at the scene, whereas, the suspects fled in Kelvin’s car.
Later, both surrendered before the police.
“Overnight, Brandon Harris turned himself in at the Brazoria County Sheriff’s office in connection with the shooting. A second male, Ahsim Taylor turn himself in at a HPD station, also in connection with the shooting,” Ed Gonzalez tweeted.
He said charges of capital murder were filed on Ashim Taylor and charges of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon were filed on Harris.
