Driver detained after rollover crash on Elgin street

HOUSTON – A driver has been taken into custody for possible DWI after a wild crash in the Midtown neighborhood. 

The crash happened around 2 a.m. when a Ford Mustang heading southbound on Smith Street struck an SUV going eastbound on Elgin street.

One driver in the SUV was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Mustang was detained and is being tested to determine if he was driving while intoxicated.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
