Aid from Canada arrives in COVID-stricken India

Around 300 ventilators from Canada arrived in coronavirus-hit India on Thursday (May 13), which has suffered a massive surge in cases in recent days.

Countries around the world have been rushing to help India alleviate the crisis.

Hospitals in capital New Delhi and across the country have been turning away patients after running out of medical oxygen and beds.

India recorded more than 300,000 daily cases for the last three weeks, overwhelming its health system as it battles a devastating second wave.
