Microsoft shares higher ahead of results

Shares of Microsoft and Alphabet gained in early trading on Tuesday (April 27) ahead of results after the bell, while those of Apple, Facebook, and Amazon, slated to report this week, were also higher.

The five companies combined account for about 40% of the S&P 500’s market capitalization.
