Houston artists win big at 2021 Grammys

LOS ANGELES – The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards were held Sunday night on CBS.

The city of Houston showed up and showed out as H-Town natives Beyoncé and Megan Thee Stallion stole the show taking home multiple awards combined. The duo were nominated in multiple categories, including ‘Best Rap Song’ and ‘Best Rap Performance for their viral hit “Savage”

To end the night not only did Thee Stallion make history as the first female to win the ‘Best New Artist’ since Lauryn Hill in 1999 but the Houston rapper took home a total of three Grammy awards.

Beyonce broke an additional record earning the status as the most decorated woman in the award ceremony’s history as she won four more trophies. She is now three wins away from the all-time record of 31, held by the late conductor Georg Solti.

Combined, Houston artists brought home seven Grammys total.
