HOUSTON – An investigation is underway after an 8-year-old boy died from possibly drowning.
According to HPD officers, there was a report of a child that had drowned in a bathtub at a Quality Inn & Suites West Chase located at 2930 W. Sam Houston Parkway South.
His biological mother and her boyfriend were in the room on the second floor at the time of the incident and authorities believe a domestic-violence-related incident occurred prior.
The boy was transported to Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus by ambulance, where he was later pronounced dead.
Both the mother and her boyfriend were taken into custody for further questioning by homicide units.
