A suspect admits to his involvement in a fatal shooting on Greens Rd.

HOUSTON – A suspect is now in custody after he is accused of fatally shooting another man last April.

The fatal shooting took place at 647 Greens Road at about 12:05 a.m. on April 5, 2020.

21-year-old Christian Dillard was arrested and charged with capital murder in the death of Matthew Harris, 28.

According to HPD patrol officers, they located Harris in a gas station parking lot with a gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital where paramedics pronounced him deceased.

Surveillance video shows Dillard at a gas station

Surveillance video from multiple businesses shows the suspect approach Harris and shoot him. The suspect then proceeded to take Harris’ property, including his shoes, and fled the scene in Harris’s black Cadillac sedan. The sedan was later recovered at a nearby location.

Further investigation identified Dillard as a suspect in this case, in addition to Dillard while in the Harris County jail on unrelated charges, admitting to his involvement in Harris’ death.
